Leeward Air Ranch is North Central Florida's premier sport aviation community,  located in the SE part Ocala, Marion County.   The first homes built in the mid 1980's were smaller, ranch style homes.  Over the years the community has grown to approximately 180 homes in a variety of sizes and styles. All homes have hangars and the streets are used as taxiways so that all aircraft have access to the runway.

             

This is a gated community with a 6200' grass, lighted runway.  There's a nice community center and a great social life.  Residents come from all walks of life, the common thread being a love of aviation.

                                       

The aircraft "living" on the air ranch are as varied as the homes and residents -- home builts, war birds, "regular Cessnas and Pipers," aerobatic planes, a couple of helicopters.... even a hot air balloon!
